１９章
1. さて、イエスはこれらの御言葉を語り終えると、ガリラヤを退いてヨルダンの向こう側の諸地方に来られた。
2. すると、多くの群衆が彼を追ってきたので、彼はそこで彼らをお癒しになった。
3. さて、ファリサイ派の者たちが試みようとして彼のところにやって来た。そして、彼にこう言った。「どんな理由があっても、彼の妻と（結婚を）解消するのはおきてにかなっていますか。」
4. しかし、彼は答えてこう仰せになった。「あなたがたは、造られた方が、初めから男と女とに造られたことについて読んだことがないのか。
5. 『そして仰せになった。「それゆえに、男はその父と母とを離れ、彼の妻と結ばれる。だから、その二人は一つとなる。」』とあるのを。
6. それだから、彼らはもはや二人ではなく、一つの体なのだ。天の神が互いに合わせたものを、人が引き離してはいけない。」
7. 彼らは彼に言った、「それでは、どうしてモーセは離縁状を渡して彼女を去らせるようにと命じたのですか。」
8. 彼は彼らに仰せになった。「モーセはあなたがたの心が頑固なのを見て、あなたがたの妻との結婚の解消を許した。しかし、最初からそうではなかった。
9. それで、私はあなたがたに言う。だれでも不貞のためではなくて自分の妻を離縁して他（の女性）と結婚する者は、姦淫の罪を犯している。また、離縁された女と結婚する男も、姦淫の罪を犯している。」
10. 彼の弟子たちが彼に言った、「もし、妻に対する夫の立場がそうだとするならば、結婚しない方が良いです。」
11. しかし、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「これらの言葉を受け入れられるのは、すべての人ではなく、そうされている人に与えられているのだ。
12. というのは、母の胎内にいる時から、そのように独身となるように生まれついている人々がいるし、また、人々から独身者にさせられた人たちもいる。さらに、もろもろの天の王国のために自分から独身となっている人々もいる。それを受け入れる事ができるならば、その人は受け入れなさい。」
13. さて、彼のところに小さな子供たちが、彼の両手をその上に置いて祈って頂くために連れて来られた。しかし、弟子たちは彼らをしかった。
14. しかし、イエスは仰せになった。「子供たちを止めるな。彼らが私の所に来るのを禁じてはならない。もろもろの天の王国は、このような者たちのものなのだ。」
15. そして、彼の両手を彼らの上に置き、それから、彼はそこを出発された。
16. さて、見よ、ある人が彼のもとに来て言った、「良い先生、私が永遠の命を持つようになるには、どんな良いことをすればよいのでしょうか。」
17. すると、彼は彼に仰せになった。「どうしてあなたは私のことを、良い、と呼ぶのか。天の神以外に良いお方はいない。しかし、もし、あなたが命に入りたいと願うのなら、もろもろの法を守りなさい。」
18. 彼は彼にこう言った。「どの？（法）ですか。」 そこでイエスは仰せになった。「あなたは殺すな。あなたは姦淫の罪を犯すな。あなたは盗むな。あなたは偽りを言うな。
19. あなたの父親と、あなたの母親とを敬え。あなたの隣人を、あなた自身のように愛せよ。」
20. すると、その若い男性は彼に言った、「それらすべてのことは、私の若い時から守っております。まだ欠けているものは何でしょうか。」
21. イエスは彼に仰せになった。「もし、あなたが完全でありたいなら、行ってあなたの財産を売って貧しい人に与えなさい。そして、天にあなたの宝を積み、それから私について来なさい。」
22. しかし、そのお言葉を聞いて、若者は悲しんで去って行った。彼は多くの持ち物を持っていたからである。
23. そこで、イエスは彼の弟子たちに仰せになった。「アーメン。私はおまえたちに言う。富んだ人がもろもろの天の王国に入るのは、難しいことだ。
24. 私は、もう一度おまえたちに言う。富んだ人が天の神の王国に入るよりは、ラクダが針の目を通り抜ける方が、まだやさしい。」
25. これを聞いた彼の弟子たちは非常に驚いて言った、「それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろうか。」
26. しかし、イエスは彼らを見ながら彼らに仰せになった。「人には、これは不可能なことだ。しかし、天の神にはすべての事が可能だ。」
27. その時ペテロが彼に言った、「ご覧ください。私たちはすべてを置いてあなたに従って参りました。それで、私たちに、何がありますか。」
28. そこで、イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「アーメン。私は私について来たおまえたちに言う。世が改まる時、人の子は彼の栄光の座に着くが、おまえたちも又、十二の座に着いてこのイスラエルの十二の部族を裁く。
29. また、だれでも彼の家、あるいは兄弟たち、また、姉妹たち、あるいは父、母、また、妻、子供たち、また、土地を私の名のために置いた人々は百倍を受け、また、永遠の生命を受け継ぐ。
30. しかし、最初の人の多くは最後となり、最後の人が最初になる。

Marriage and Divorce
19 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”
4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’
5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”
8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
10 His disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”
Jesus Teaches on Celibacy
11 But He said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given:
12 For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”
Jesus Blesses Little Children
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler
16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”
Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”[i]
20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.[j] What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
With God All Things Are Possible
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”
28 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[k] or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
