マタイによる福音書第２７章（欽定訳）


1.　さて、朝になった。すべての祭司長たち、また、民の長老たちはイエスを死刑にしようと企てた。
2.　そして、彼を縛って連行し、提督、ポンテオ・ピラトに引き渡した。

3.　その時、彼を引き渡たしたユダは、イたエスが死刑にされたのを後悔し、銀貨三十枚を祭司長たちや長老たちに返して、
4.　こう言った、「私は罪を犯して潔白な人の血を引き渡してして裏切てしまった。」すると彼らは言った。「それがわれわれに何だと言うのだ？お前が好きなようにすればいい。」
5.　そこで彼は引き下がって神殿の中に銀貨を投げ落とした。それから、彼は行って自ら首をくくって死んだ。
6.　しかし、祭司長たちはその銀貨を取り上げて言った。「この銀貨　は血の代価だから、これらを取ってコルバンに入れるのは、法にかなったものではない。」
7.　そこで、彼らは相談した上でそれを手に取り、外国人たちを葬る土地のために陶工の畑を購入した。
8.　そういうわけで、その畑はこの日まで、「血の畑」と呼ばれているのである。
9.　その時、預言者エレミヤによって語られた言葉が成就された。そこではこう言っている。「そして、私はイスラエルの子らの値段として、彼らが彼につけた価の銀貨三十枚を取った。
10.　そして、主が私に指示されたとおりに、陶工の畑のために彼らにそれを与えた。」

11.　さて、イエスは総督の前に立たれた。すると、総督は彼に尋ねてこ
う言った、「お前がこのユダヤの王なのか？」そこで、イエスは彼に仰せになった。「汝の言う通りである。」
12.　それから彼は祭司長たち、また、長老たちに訴えられている間、何もお答えにならなかった。
13.　そこで、ピラトは彼に言った、「お前に対して彼らがこんなにも多くの証言がさしているのに、お前は聞いていないのか？」
14.　しかし、彼は彼に一言もお答えにならなかった。それで総督は非常に驚いてしまった。
15.　さて、総督は慣習で、祭りの時に、大衆に対して彼らが望んだ囚人を一人釈放してやることが常であった。
16.　さて、その時、彼らには悪名の高い囚人がいた。バラバと呼ばれていた。
17.　彼らは互いに集まって来ていた。それでピラトは彼らに言った。お前たちはだれを釈放して欲しいのか？バラバか？それとも、キリストと呼ばれているイエスか？」
18.　彼は、彼らが彼を引き渡したのは、ねたみのためである事を知っていたからである。　
19.　さて、彼が裁判用の壇の上に座っていると、彼の妻が、彼に使いを送ってこう言わせた、「あの正しい人と、あなたとの間には関わらないようにして下さい。彼のために私は今日、夢の中で本当に大変だったのですから。」
20.　しかし、祭司長たちや長老たちは、バラバを開放してイエスは滅ぼすようにと群衆を説きつけた。
21.　そこで提督は彼らに言った。「諸君は二人のうちのどちらを私が釈放して欲しいのか？」すると、彼らは言った、「バラバだ。」
22.　ピラトは彼らにこう言った、「それなら私にキリストと呼ばれているイエスをどうしろと言うのか」彼らは皆で言った。「十字架につけよ。」
23.　しかし、総督は言った。「それなら、彼は何の悪を行ったのか？」すると、彼らはさらに叫んで言った。「十字架につけよ。」
24.　そこで、ピラトはどうしようも無いどころか、逆に大騒ぎになってきているのを見て、水を取り寄せ、両手をその群衆の前で洗ってこう言った、「私はこの正しい男の血には罪がない。お前たちの勝手にしろ。」
25.　すると、群衆は皆で答えて言った。「彼の血はわれわれとわれわれの子孫に。」
26.　それで、彼は彼らにバラバを釈放し、イエスを鞭打ち、十字架につけるために引き渡した。
27.　そして、総督の兵士たちはイエスをパエリトリウムに連行し、彼の所に兵士全員たちをイエスのまわりに集めた。
28.　そして、彼を裸にし、彼に紫色の（ギリシャ人用の）外着をまとわせた。
29.　そして、茨で編んだ冠を彼の頭にかぶせ、右手に葦の棒を持たせた。そして、彼の前にひざまずいて、彼らは彼を嘲りながら言った。「ハイル。ユダヤ人共の王に！」


30.　そして、彼につばをはきかけ、葦を取り上げて彼の頭を打った。
31.　また、彼らは彼をなぶりものにすると、彼から外着をはぎ取って自分の着物を着せ、十字架につけるために引き出した。
32.　それから出て行くと、彼らはシモーンという名のクレナイの男性を見つけたので、彼らはこの人を強制徴募して彼の十字架を負わせた。

40.　そしてこう言った、「神殿を破壊して、三日の内に建て直すという者よ。お前自身を救え。もし、お前が天の神の息子なら十字架から降りてこい。」
41.　そしてまた、祭司長たちも、同じように、法学者たちや長老たちと共に冒涜して言った。
42.　「彼は他人は救ったのに、彼自身を救う事ができないのだ。もし、彼がイスラエルの王だと言うなら、今十字架から下りて来い。そしたら、われわれはお前を信じよう。
43.　彼は天の神に信頼しているのだろう。さあ今、解放してもらえ。もし、お前が神のお気にいりの人物であるというなら。お前は言っていたではないか。『私は神の子だ。』と。」
44.　また、一緒に十字架に架けられていたあの強盗共も同じように彼をなじった。
45.　さて、第六の時から第九の時まで、全地に暗黒ががあった。
46.　そして、およそ九時頃、イエスは大声で叫んで言われた、「エリ、エリ、ラマ、サバクサニ。」すなわち、「わが神、わが神。どうしてあなたは私をお見捨てになったのですか？」
47.　すると、そこに立っていて聞いた者の何人かが言った。「この人はエリヤを呼んでいる。」
48.　そして、すぐに彼らのうちの一人が、駆けていってスポンジを取り、それに酸いぶどう酒を満たして葦の棒につけ、彼に与えた。
49.　しかし、その他の者たちは言った。「放っておけ。もし、エリヤが彼を救いに来るなら見ようではないか。」
50.　すると、イエスはもう一度大声で叫んでから、霊[1]を委ねられた。
51.　すると、見よ、神殿のベール上から根本まで二つに裂かれ、地が震われ、岩が裂かれた。
52.　また、墓が開かれ、眠りについていた多くの聖徒たちの体が蘇った。
53.　そして、彼のよみがえりの後に、墓地から出てきて聖都　に入り、多くの人々に現れた。
54.　そこで、百人部隊の隊長と、彼と共にいてイエスを監視していた人々は、地震と起きた物事とを見て大いに恐れ、そして言った。「これは、本当に神の子であったのだ。」
55.　さて、そこには多くの女性たちが遠くから見つめていた。彼女たちはガリラヤからイエスの後について来て、彼に仕えていた人々であった。
56.　その中にはマグダレーネのマリヤがおり、またヤコブとヨセとの母マリヤ、そして、ゼベダイの息子たちの母もいた。
57.　さて、夜になってある金持ちの男性がアリマサイアから来た。名をヨセフと言った。彼自身もまた、イエスの弟子になっていた。
58.　彼はピラトの所に行って、イエスの体を請い求めた。そこで、ピラトは死体を渡すように命じた。
59.　そこで、ヨセフは遺体を受け取ると、それをきれいな亜麻布で包み込み、
60.　それを彼の岩を切り出した新しい墓の中に安置し、墓の入り口に大きな石を転がしてて立ち去った。
61.　また、そこにマグダレーネのマリヤともう一人のマリヤがいて、墓に向かって座っていた。
62.　さて、備えの日の翌日に、祭司長たちやファリサイ派の人々は互いにピラトの所に集まった。
63.　そしてこう言った、「長官、私どもはあの詐欺師がまだ生きていた時に、『三日後に私は生き返る』と言っていたのを思い出しました。
64.　ですから、彼の弟子たちが彼を夜中に盗んで行って、人々に『彼は死からよみがえっている』と言うことがないように、墓を三日目まで守るように命じて下さい。そうでないと、最後の惑わしは初めのものよりも悪いでしょうから。」
65.　そこで、ピラトは彼らに言った。「お前たちには見張りがいるではないか、行ってお前たちの方法で墓を守るようにすればよい。」
66.　そこで、彼らは行って、墓を堅固にし、石を封印し、衛兵を置いた。

Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate
27 When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.

2 And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius　Pilate the governor.
Judas Hangs Himself
3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”
And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”
5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.”
 7 And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. 
8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,
 10 and gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.”
Jesus Faces Pilate
11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?”
 14 But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.
Taking the Place of Barabbas
15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 
17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 
18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 
21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?”
They said, “Barabbas!”
22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”
They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.You see to it.”
25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”
26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. 
28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 
29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 
30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
The King on a Cross
32 Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. 
33 And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull,
34 they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
35 Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots,[f] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet:
“They divided My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.”
36 Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. 37 And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.
39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
41 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, 42 “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. 43 He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
44 Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.
Jesus Dies on the Cross
45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
47 Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!”48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
49 The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
55 And many women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar, 56 among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb
57 Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. 
59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. 
61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
Pilate Sets a Guard
62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate,
 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said,‘After three days I will rise.’
 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”
65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” 
66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.

２８章

主はよみがえられた

1.　さて、安息日が過ぎて週の最初の日が明け始めると、マグダレーネのマリヤと、もう一人のマリヤが墓を見に来た。
2.　すると、見よ、大きな地震が起きた。それは主の天使が天から下って来て、入口から岩を転がして、その上に腰掛けていたからであった。
3.　そして、彼の顔立ちは稲妻のようであり、彼の衣服は雪のように白かった。
4.　そして、衛兵たちは彼への恐れで震え、死人のようになった。

5.　しかし、天使は女性たちに言った。「あなたがたは恐れてはなりません。私はあなたがたが捜していは十字架に架けられたイエスを知っているからです。
6.　彼はここにはおられません。彼が仰せられていたように、よみがえられたからです。来て、主が置かれていた場所をご覧なさい。
7.　そして、急いで彼の弟子たちの所に行って、主は死からよみがえられ、あなたがたより先にガリラヤに行かれてそこで彼はあなたがたに会われると告げなさい。見なさい。私はあなたがたに言っておきましたから。」

8.　そこで、彼女たちは、恐れと大きな喜びとをもって墓地を出て行き、彼の弟子たちの所に知らせるために走っていった。

女たちが復活した主を礼拝する
告げようとして行くと、見よ、イエスが彼女たちと会って言われた、「汝ら喜べ！[1]」そこで、彼女たちは来て、彼の両足にしがみつき、彼を礼拝した。
10.　その時、イエスは彼女たちに仰せになった。「恐れるな。行って私の兄弟たちにガリラヤに行くように伝えよ。そこで彼らは私に会うことになっているから。」

11.　さて、彼女たちが行くと、見よ、衛兵のうちの数人が町に入って行って、祭司長たちに起こったすべてのことを報告した。
12.　そこで、長老たちは互いに集まって相談し、大金を衛兵たちに渡して
13.　こう言った、「彼の弟子たちが夜中にやって来て、私たちが寝ている間に彼を盗んで行ったと言いなさい。
14.　そうしたら、この事が提督の耳に入っても、われわれが彼をなだめてあなたがたを安全にしてあげよう。」
15.　そこで、彼らは金を受け取って彼らに指示されたようにした。そこで、彼らのこの言い分はユダヤ人の間に広がって今日にまで至っている。

16.　それから、十一弟子たちは、ガリラヤに行って、イエスが彼らに指示された山に行った。
17.　そして、彼にお目にかかると、彼らは彼を礼拝した。しかし、何人かは疑った。
18.　イエスは来て彼らに語ってこう言われた、「天においても地においても、すべての権威は私に与えられている。
19.　それゆえ、行ってすべての諸国民[2]を弟子にし、彼らに父と子と聖霊の御名においてバプテスマを授け、
20.　私が汝らに命じておいたすべての事を守るように教えよ。見よ、わたしは世の完結[3]まで、いつの日も[4]汝らともにいる。アーメン⑤。」

He Is Risen
28 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 
4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 
6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
The Women Worship the Risen Lord
9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go andtell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
The Soldiers Are Bribed
11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 
12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 
13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 
14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 
17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

４章

1.　それから、イエスは聖霊[1]によって、[2]ディアボロスから試みられる為に、荒野へと導き入れられた。

2.　そして、四十日の昼夜を断食した後、彼は飢えられた。

3.　すると、彼の所に試みる者がやって来て，言った。「もし、あなたが天の神の息子であるならば、これらの石がパンになるように言いなさい。」

4.　しかし、彼は答えて仰せになった。「『人はただパンだけで生きるのではなく、神の口から出ている、すべての言葉による。』と書いてある。」

5.　すると、ディアボロスは彼を聖都へと携えて行き、彼を神殿の翼（そで）に置いて、

6.　彼に言った、「あなたが天の神の息子であるなら、あなた自身を下に投げなさい。『あなたについて、天の神は彼の使いたちに[3]命じられる。』すると、『彼らはその両手をもってあなたを支え、あなたの足が石に激しくあたる事のないようにする。』と書いてありますから。」

7.　イエスは彼に仰せになった、「『主なる、あなたの天の神を試みてはならない。』とも書いてある。」

8.　ディアボロスは再び彼を非常に高い山に連れて行き、彼に、世界のすべての王国と栄耀栄華とを見せた。

9.　そして彼に言った、「もし、あなたが跪いて私を拝むなら、これらのものを全部あなたにさしあげましょう。」。

10.　その時、イエスは彼に仰せになった。「我が後ろに引き下がれ[4]、サタン！こう書いてある。『汝は、主である、天の神を礼拝し、そして、彼にのみ仕えよ』と。」

11.　すると、ディアボロスは彼から離れて行った。そして見よ、使いたちがそば近くに来て、彼に仕えた。

12.　さて、イエスは、ヨハネが捕らえられたと聞いて、彼はガリラヤへと発たれた。

13.　そして、ナザレを離れ、ザブローンとナフサリの境にある、海沿いのカペナウムに来て彼は住まわれた。

14.　それは、預言者イザヤによって語られた事が成就するためであった。こう仰せになっている、

15.　「ザブローンの地、ナフサリの地、ヨルダンの向こうの、海沿いの道にある異教徒のガリラヤ、

16.　暗黒の中に座している人々は、偉大な光を見た。又、死の地方と死の影の中に居る者たちに、光が昇った。」[5]

17.　その時からイエスは宣教を開始して仰せになった、「悔い改めなさい、もろもろの天の王国が間近になったからだ。」

18.　また、イエスが、ガリラヤ湖岸を歩いていると、彼は二人の兄弟たち、ペテロと呼ばれるシモーンと、彼の兄弟アンドレが、大きな網を海に投げているのをご覧になった。彼らは漁師だったからである。

19.　そし、彼らに仰せになった、「私について来なさい。そうすれば、私は汝らを人間の漁師にしてあげよう。」

20.　すると、彼らは、直ちにそれらの網を残して彼についていった。

21.　又、少し行くと、彼は他に二人の兄弟たち、ゼベダイの息子ヤコブと、彼の兄弟のヨハネとが舟の中で、彼らの父ゼベダイと共に、彼らの網共を直しているのをごらんになった。彼は、[6]彼らをお呼びになった。

22.　すると、彼らは直ちに舟と彼らの父とを置いて、彼についていった。

23.　さて、イエスはガリラヤ中を行き巡り、彼らのスナゴーグで教え、王国の福音を布告された。そして、彼らの中のすべての病人とすべての体の弱っている者をお癒しになった。

24.　そこで彼の名声はスリア全土に広がった。そして彼らは、病気の人々、様々な病気や苦痛で悩んでいる人々、悪霊共に取りつかれている人々、[7]精神障害を負っている人々、身体不随の人々を皆連れて来たが、彼は、彼らをお癒しになった。

25.　そして、ガリラヤ、デカポリス、また、エルサレム、ユダヤと、ヨルダンの向こうから、非常に多くの群衆が彼の後を追った。

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 
6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,

7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry
12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”[f]
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Four Fishermen Called as Disciples
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 
19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,
 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Jesus Heals a Great Multitude
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
 24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. 
25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

マタイによる福音書第３章（欽定訳）

３章

1.　さて、その頃、バプテスマのヨハネが来て、ユダヤの荒野で宣教して
2.　こう言った。「悔い改めなさい。もろもろの天の王国が間近になったのだから。」
3.　この人こそが預言者イザヤによって語られた人であった人である。こう仰せになっている、「荒野で声が叫んでいる。『主の道を整えよ。彼のもろもろの通り道を真っすぐにせよ』」と。
4.　 そして、ヨハネはラクダの毛皮を身にまとい、腰には皮の帯をしめていた。また、彼の食物はイナゴや野性の蜜であった。
5.　その時、エルサレム、ユダヤの全地、また、ヨルダンの周辺のすべての地方から［人々が］彼の所に出て来た。
6.　そして、彼らのもろもろの罪を告白して、ヨルダンで彼からバプテスマを受けた。

 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 
10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 
12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
John Baptizes Jesus
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 
14 And John tried toprevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”
15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

1.　さて、王ヘロデの在位中にイエスがユダヤのベスレヘムで誕生されていたが、見よ、マジ[1]たちが東方からエルサレムに着いた。
2.　そして、こう言った、「ユダヤの王として誕生されたお方は、どこにおられますか？　私どもはその方の星を東（の地）で見ましたので、その方を礼拝しに来たのです。」
3.　しかし、ヘロデ王は聞いて困惑した。又、彼と共にいるすべてのエルサレム[の人々]もそうであった。

The Flight into Egypt
13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 
15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
Massacre of the Innocents
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. 
17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18 “A voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted,
Because they are no more.”
The Home in Nazareth
19 Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”
