マタイによる、聖なる福音
１章
1. ダビデの子、アブラハムの子である、イエス・キリストの系図の書。
2. アブラハムは、イサクを生み、イサクはヤコブを生み、ヤコブはユダと、彼の兄弟たちとを生んだ。
3. そして、ユダはサマルによってファレスとザラとを生み、ファレスはエスロムを生み、エスロムはアラムを生んだ。
4. そして、アラムはアミナダブを生み、アミナダブはナアソンを生み、ナアソンはサルモーンを生んだ。
5. そして、サルモーンはラカブによってボアズを生み、ボアズは、ルスによってオベドを生み、オベドはエッサイを生んだ。
6. そして、エッサイは国王ダビデを生み、ダビデ王は、ウリヤの妻によってソロモーンを生んだ。
7. そして、ソロモーンはロブアムを生み、ロブアムは、アビアを生み、アビアはアサを生んだ。
8. そして、アサはヨサファテを生み、ヨサファテはヨラムを生み、ヨラムはオジアを生んだ。
9. そして、オジアはヨアサムを生み、ヨアサムはアハズを生み、アハズはエゼキアを生んだ。
10. そして、エゼキアはマナッセを生み、マナッセは、アモンを生み、アモンはヨシアを生んだ。
11. そして、ヨシアは、バビロンに捕囚にされたエコニアと彼の兄弟たちとを生んだ。
12. バビロン捕囚の後、エコニアはサラシエルを生み、サラシエルは、ゾロバベルを生んだ。
13. そして、ゾロバベルはアビウドを生み、アビウドは、エリアケイムを生み、エリアケイムはアゾルを生んだ。
14. そして、アゾルはザドクを生み、ザドクはアケイムを生み、アケイムはエリウドを生んだ。
15. そして、エリウドはエレアザルを生み、エレアザルはマタンを生み、マタンはヤコブを生んだ。
16. そして、ヤコブは、マリヤの夫ヨセフを生んだ。（彼女からキリストと呼ばれる、イエスが誕生されたのである）
17. それゆえ、アブラハムからダビデまでの世代は全部で十四代、ダビデからバビロン捕囚までの世代は十四代、バビロン捕囚からキリストまでの世代は十四代である。
18. さて、イエス・キリストの誕生は次のようであった。彼の母マリヤはヨセフと婚約していたが、彼らがまだ一緒にならない時に、彼女は聖霊によって子を宿したことがわかった。
19. しかし、彼女の夫ヨセフは正しい人であって、彼女をさらし者にしたくはなかったので、人に知られないうちに彼女を離縁しようとした。
20. そして、彼がこれらの事について深く考えこんでいると、見よ、主の使いが夢の中で彼に現れて、こう言った。
「ヨセフ、ダビデの息子よ、あなたはマリヤを妻に迎える事を恐れてはいけない。彼女の胎にお宿りになっている方は聖霊によるもので、聖なるお方だからです。
21. 彼女は男の子を産みます。そして、あなたは彼の名をイエスと呼びなさい。彼はご自分の（彼の）民を彼らの罪からお救いになるからです。」
22. これらのすべての事が起こったのは、主が預言者たちを通して語られた事が成就されるためであった。それには、こう仰せになっている。
23. 「見よ、おとめが身ごもって息子を産む。そして、彼らは彼の名をエンマヌーエルと呼ぶ。」それは、「天の神が、我らと共におられる」と訳される。
24. ヨセフはその眠りからさめると、主の使いが彼に命じた通りにし、彼の妻を迎えた。
25. そして、彼女が初子の息子を出産するまでは彼女を知る事がなかった。そして、彼は彼の名をイエスと呼んだ。

1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:
2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.
3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.
4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.
5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,
6 and Jesse begot David the king.
David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.
7 Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.
8 Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah.
9 Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah.
10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.
11 Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.
13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.
14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.
15 Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.
16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ arefourteen generations.
Christ Born of Mary
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His nameJesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
